public class AnnotationFrame
extends javax.swing.JInternalFrame

An annotation frame consists of two or three parts: an annotation area at the top (only if showAnnotationArea of the specified annotation layer is true), an annotation control panel in the middle and a target control panel at the bottom. These two or three parts are separated by splitters. This class creates the components of the annotation frame for the annotations of an agent and layer. The three parts are connected through the annotation listener and annotation selection listener interfaces.

When the annotation frame is hidden or if the annotation area is hidden (using the splitter), the frame will call setVisible(false) on the hidden frame components, so the components can handle that event.

Constructs a new annotation frame for the specified layer and agent. The agent parameter may be null if the layer belongs to an interaction coding rather than an agent coding.

Parameters:

agent - an agent (if the layer belongs to an agent coding) or null (if the layer belongs to an interaction coding)

layer - an annotation layer

Throws:

java.lang.Exception - if the target control panel could not be created
